Brian CroninThey're obviously not the worst conspiracy theorists out there, but boy, 9/11 conspiracy theorists just drive me nuts. Before we get into how dumb their theories are, why do they even exist? What are they getting out of this? I'm specifically talking about the "controlled demolition" theory. I can at least see the "logic" in the old "we let it happen as a pretext for war" theory. I don't think that's true, either, but there's at least AN actual motive expressed there. Again, it fails on its face due to lack of evidence, but it's at least something logically consistent enough. However, the controlled demolition stuff doesn't make ANY sense, even crazy person sense. Going beyond the idiotic "a plane crash couldn't do that," which it obviously could when coupled with full jumbo jet fuel lines, but more importantly, what benefit is gained from blowing up the buildings when merely crashing two passenger jets into the buildings was already the most horrific act of terror the US had ever experienced? The 1000 people above the impact zone in the North Tower were all dead or soon to be dead before the building collapsed. The 600 or so people in the South Tower likely could have been eventually saved, true (the conditions were MUCH better in the South Tower, which is why you saw very few people jump from the South Tower), but in that case, we're still talking 1200-1400 dead innocents. Why in the world would you come up with a conspiracy to go beyond that? What would possibly be the motive?Of course, on top of that, they have no evidence, but beyond their lack of evidence and their stupid theory of a controlled demolition just being able to be hidden in front of everyone, there was just not even a slight reason to do it. It just baffles me that people can be this dumb for no reason.
