THE TECHNOLOGY NEEDED FOR CONTROL ALREADY EXISTS
“And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark…” — Revelation 13:17 KJV
For generations, Christians believed this prophecy because God said it. Today, we can see how it could be enforced.
China already uses facial recognition, surveillance cameras, mobile payments, digital records, and automated traffic enforcement throughout daily life.
WeChat—called **Weixin** in China—is more than a messaging application. Weixin Pay allows people to transfer money, pay bills, purchase food, and buy goods from tens of millions of merchants. A customer scans a code and pays through his phone. [Tencent’s Weixin Pay information](https://www.tencent.com/tencent-further-enhances-digital-payment-services-for-visitors-to-china-with-process-streamlined-and-more-overseas-wallets-linked/)
China’s roads show how enforcement can be transferred from people to machines. Cameras can identify vehicles, record violations, and connect them to electronic driving records. Digital licenses can display violations in real time. [Chinese government traffic report](https://english.www.gov.cn/news/202406/14/content_WS666b9f49c6d0868f4e8e818a.html)
A police officer no longer has to stop every driver. Technology can record the violation and issue the penalty.
This is not limited to China.
British police use live facial recognition to compare people in public places against watchlists. Other nations also use biometric surveillance. The European Union restricts some real-time police uses but permits limited exceptions. Europe is also becoming increasingly dependent upon electronic commerce. In 2026, 68 percent of euro-area companies accepted mobile payments—up from 36 percent in 2024. [European Central Bank](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/press/pr/date/2026/html/ecb.pr260813~389729d6a9.en.html)
What does this mean?
WeChat, facial recognition, traffic cameras, mobile payments, and digital identification are **not** the mark of the Beast.
But they prove that the machinery needed to enforce Revelation 13 is no longer difficult to imagine.
A connected system can:
*Identify you.
Locate you.
Monitor your movement.
Record your purchases.
Transfer your money.
Approve or deny a transaction.**
During the Tribulation, the question will not merely be whether someone possesses money. The government will determine whether he is permitted to use it.
“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark…” — Revelation 13:16 KJV**
The mark will involve conscious allegiance to the Beast. Technology can provide the means of identifying compliance and enforcing exclusion.
No cashier will need to argue.
No officer will need to stand beside every store.
The system will simply answer: ACCESS DENIED.**
Technology is a tool. But when one authority controls identity, money, surveillance, and access, that tool can become the gatekeeper of survival.
Technology is not the prophecy—but it can make the prophesied control enforceable.**
The machinery is being built. The warning has already been written.
