THE NATIONAL DEBT KEEPS GROWINGThe U.S. national debt is projected to hit the $40 trillion milestone by the end of this month. The cost to service that debt will cost approximately $3.18 billion per day, according to Congressional Budget Office. Since big government loves to spend, the debt will only snowball with greater alacrity.People don’t want to worry about the national debt because “it’s money owed to ourselves.” Wrong. Citizens will pay interest to bondholders at the central banks and elsewhere by means of inflation. Citizens will find their money will buy less and less. Maybe it’s time to buy real money—gold and silver.
