**SINCERITY DOES NOT MAKE ERROR TRUTH** “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” — Jeremiah 17:9 KJV A person can be completely sincere—and completely wrong. Sincerity does not transform sin into righteousness. Strong feelings do not change God’s commandments. A peaceful conscience does not always prove that we are walking rightly. The heart is capable of deceiving the very person in whom it dwells. It can make selfishness feel justified, bitterness feel deserved, lust feel like love, and rebellion feel like freedom. It can convince us that because something feels right, it must be right.Scripture warns: “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” — Proverbs 14:12 Notice that the way **seemeth right**. The person may not feel wicked or dishonest. He may genuinely believe he is justified—but his sincerity does not change where the road ends. We do not need a heart that is encouraged to lead us. We need a heart that has been searched, corrected, and surrendered to God. “Search me, O God, and know my heart…” — Psalm 139:23Never make sincerity your standard. God’s truth—not your feelings—determines what is right.
