BREAKING: DOJ lawyer turns red and stammers when judge demands answers on Epstein filesDOJ attorney Andrew Block had nowhere to hide this week when federal Judge Emmet Sullivan demanded to know why the Justice Department still hasn't handed over Epstein related documents it was ordered to produce nearly two months ago.The order traces back to attorney Katie Phang, who sued Attorney General Todd Blanche in April after arguing the DOJ was blowing off the Epstein Files Transparency Act. She won a preliminary injunction in June ordering the DOJ to unredact key documents. Sullivan's June order was direct, telling Blanche to immediately initiate review and production of foreign language Epstein materials.Two months later, nothing had moved. Phang, who was in the courtroom, described Block's reaction to Sullivan's questioning as turning red, stammering, hemming and hawing, and eventually failing to answer the court. When Sullivan pressed him on how many pages were left to review, Block admitted, "I don't have a number."Sullivan wasn't having it. He reminded Block that he knew this would come up and was standing at the podium as counsel for the Attorney General. When Block said the DOJ's position "hasn't changed," Sullivan shot back, "The Government's position then is you're just not going to comply?"Phang laid out exactly how brazen the stonewalling is, pointing out that unlike other parts of the injunction, the court gave Blanche no wiggle room on this piece. It ordered him to immediately initiate review and production, full stop.One lawyer refused to let this go, took it to court, won, and is now watching a federal judge hold the DOJ's feet to the fire in real time.
