**PUT IT OFF—AND PUT HIM ON**“That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”— Ephesians 4:22–24 God provides the truth, but we are responsible for how we respond to it. Scripture does not merely give us something to admire, discuss, or post—it commands us to obey. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” — James 1:22 When God’s Word exposes pride, anger, lust, bitterness, deceit, or rebellion, we have only two responses: obey the truth and change, or reject the truth and remain unchanged. Ignoring Scripture is not a neutral response; it is disobedience. The old manner of life does not disappear merely because we know it is wrong. God commands us to **put it off**. Neither do righteousness and holiness appear automatically. We must deliberately **put on the new man** and “put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 13:14). This is not earning salvation by good works. Salvation is entirely by grace through faith. But once saved, the believer is responsible to yield to God, obey His Word, reject the old ways, and walk in newness of life. Do not ask God to remove what He has commanded you to put off. Do not cling to what Scripture tells you to forsake. God has given the truth. The question is: **Will you obey it—or reject it?**
