"HIDDEN IN THE HEART"
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."(Psalm 119:11)
Remember those commercials on T.V. years ago when companies would advertise certain products they were selling? They would say something like, "This first one is GOOD, this second one is BETTER, but this third one is BEST." Consumers would then decide, according to their need and/or affordability, which of the three to purchase. The GOOD was satisfactory, the BETTER was standard, but the BEST was superior.
When I read Psalm 119:11, that verse causes me to think about that GOOD, BETTER, and BEST stuff again. For example, our hands are a GOOD place to hold God's Word, our homes are a BETTER place to have God's Word, but our hearts are the BEST place to hide God's Word. Why? Because the Psalmist says, "Thy Word have I HID in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." (caps mine)
Are we spending much time in the word of God? If not, then we should never wonder why there's little or no victory when temptation comes knocking. This Book which God has given us, was given to instruct us on how to live victoriously. Being more than a conqueror, having the Joy of the Lord as our Strength, and knowing the Peace of God which passeth all understanding, is ours when the word of God is hidden deep in our hearts.
I believe it's imperative for each of us to hide God's word in our hearts. Now, in order for you and I to do that, we must first learn it, which in turn will cause us to love it, and that will result with us living it.
We don't need to attend more seminars to be happy people, we need to depend on the Scriptures to be holy people. Personally, I'd rather listen to someone who went from rebellion to righteousness by APPLYING the truth of the word, than someone who went from rags to riches by ATTAINING the things of the world.
Friends, as Christians, let's not settle for what someone else says about having a GOOD or BETTER way to live life. The BEST way is to the begin each day saturating our mind with the Scriptures and hiding it in our heart. By doing that, we'll find that the rest of the day, our soul will be bathing in the Presence of Almighty God.
