There have been eleven (11) assassination attempts upon President Donald J. Trump. A. Michael Steven Sandford (British national): June 18, 2016, Las Vegas rally — Attempted to grab a police officer’s handgun with the stated intent to shoot Trump. B. Gregory Lee Leingang: September 2017, North Dakota — Stole a forklift and intended to use it to attack/flip Trump’s presidential motorcade/limousine. C. Thomas Matthew Crooks: July 13, 2024, Butler, Pennsylvania campaign rally — Fired multiple shots from an AR-15-style rifle, grazing Trump’s right ear, killing one spectator (Corey Comperatore), and wounding others. Crooks was killed by Secret Service. D. Ryan Wesley Routh: September 15, 2024, Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach, Florida — Spotted with an SKS-style rifle while Trump was golfing; Secret Service engaged him. He was later convicted of attempted assassination and sentenced to life in prison. E. Austin Tucker Martin: February 22, 2026, Mar-a-Lago — Breached the perimeter armed with a shotgun and gas can; shot and killed by Secret Service agents and a sheriff’s deputy after raising the shotgun. Trump was not present. F. Cole Tomas Allen (also referred to as Cole Allen): April 25, 2026, White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Washington, D.C. — Involved in a security breach/shooting scare at the event; reported as an alleged attempted assassin who rushed security. G. Janine John Taily: August 4, 2026 – Arrested on Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles just before the president was due there for a fund raiser. Poison/mail plots H. William Clyde Allen III: 2018 — Arrested in connection with mailing a ricin-laced letter to Trump. I. Pascale Ferrier (French-Canadian): 2020 — Mailed ricin-laced letters to Trump (and others); later sentenced to prison. Foreign-linked murder-for-hire / organized plots J. Asif Merchant (Pakistani national): Arrested 2024 (convicted 2026) — Involved in an Iran-linked (IRGC-associated) plot to recruit hitmen to assassinate Trump and others. K. Farhad Shakeri (and associates including Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt): Charged around November 2024 — Linked to another Iran-directed murder-for-hire plot targeting Trump. Shakeri was reported at large or later neutralized in some accounts.
