BREAKING: Fauci pleaded the Fifth 111 times, and Democrat John Fetterman now admits Washington silenced the COVID lab leak!! 🚨
Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania sat through Wednesday’s Senate Homeland Security hearing and watched Anthony Fauci refuse to answer question after question.
Afterward, the Democrat from Pennsylvania said something you rarely hear from a politician in either party. He admitted he was wrong.
“Did I have regrets? Well, I did,” Fetterman told Fox News.
His regret was staying silent about the possibility that COVID-19 came from a lab in Wuhan, China. He explained that the theory had been written off as “crazy, right fringe kind of thing” even though, in his words, “it seemed to make sense to me.”
A sitting United States senator believed the lab leak theory was plausible and kept his mouth shut because his party had decided that asking the question made you a conspiracy theorist.
Every American should stop and remember what that era was actually like. Facebook announced in February 2021 that it would remove any post claiming the virus was man-made. The company treated the idea as debunked misinformation and scrubbed it from the platform. Ordinary citizens who shared articles about the Wuhan lab watched their posts vanish and their accounts get restricted. Doctors and scientists with real credentials were shouted down and shadowbanned across social media. Then, in May 2021, President Biden ordered an intelligence review into the virus’s origins, and Facebook reversed its ban within days. The evidence had not changed one bit. The only thing that changed was the political permission slip.
We now know the censorship went far deeper than one company’s bad judgment. Mark Zuckerberg admitted in a 2024 letter to the House Judiciary Committee that senior Biden administration officials, including officials in the White House itself, repeatedly pressured Meta for months to censor COVID content. He wrote that the officials grew frustrated when his teams pushed back, that “the government pressure was wrong,” and that he regretted not being more outspoken. Facebook removed more than 20 million pieces of COVID content in a little over a year. Our own federal government leaned on private companies to silence American citizens for raising a question that a Democratic senator now says deserved serious consideration all along.
The man at the center of it all had his chance to clear the air on Wednesday. Instead, Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times.
A public servant who spent years lecturing Americans about “the science” does not need the Fifth Amendment 111 times if he has nothing to hide.
Chairman Rand Paul is now seeking contempt charges, and he deserves the backing of every American who wants the full record brought into the light.
Fetterman also reminded us what the stakes were. He talked about the human toll beyond the death count, saying he has heard from countless people who lost their businesses, and calling those losses “a different kind of death.”
Families lost loved ones, livelihoods, and years of their children’s education while the people in charge shut down honest debate.
To his credit, the senator drew the right lesson. “It’s a virus, the only side is, really, Americans versus the virus,” he said. He added his hope that next time, we can follow the truth regardless of whether there is an R or a D attached to it.
That is exactly the standard the American people should demand.
The next crisis will come, and when it does, we need leaders who protect free speech, welcome hard questions, and follow the evidence wherever it leads, even when it embarrasses the powerful.
