That is quality control on a narrative assembly line.Notice what is in the trash can. Not lies. Not hoaxes. Stories about a border in crisis. Stories about energy policy that actually worked. Stories about platforms burying inconvenient reporting. The label "misinformation" was never a verdict on accuracy, it was a verdict on usefulness.And here is the part that should stick with you. The word used to mean something. It used to describe a false claim. Now it describes a claim that has not been cleared. Those are two completely different things, and the swap was deliberate, because one of them requires evidence and the other one only requires authority.They have the outlets. They have the anchors reading the same three phrases on the same afternoon. They have the fact check industry that somehow never audits its own team. And when a citizen looks at all of that and says, hold on, I have questions, the response is not an argument. The response is a label, and the label is designed to make you look stupid for asking.That is the arrogance. Not that they disagree with you, but that they believe you were never entitled to reach your own conclusion in the first place. A free people does not need permission to think. The First Amendment was not written to protect approved speech, because approved speech has never needed protection anywhere in human history.The stamp only works if you flinch when you see it. So do not flinch. Read the primary source. Check the receipts yourself. Then decide.
