RESPECTING MINISTRY DIFFERENCES "And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part." (Mark 9:38-40) His point was that people are different, preachers are different, and ministries are different, so it's best to plow our own row and let others plow theirs without fighting over differences. If we are wise, we will not magnify differences. We will glean from the best that everyone has to offer and usually not worry about the negatives. Today everyone just sits like hungry lions, ready to pounce on anyone for even the smallest disagreement. The old golden rule is the FORGOTTEN rule, and the new golden rule is "see how fast you can find something to fight about." I don't want to fight anyone, and I don't want to turn you away from anyone. If God is allowing you to learn and grow from someone's ministry, then you keep learning and growing. Short of someone teaching outright heresy, which usually isn't the case, what I think about the man or what he thinks about me is irrelevant. Due to personality differences, habits, IQ's, and other factors, some people learn better from one man and ministry than from another, and that's fine. Whether they should or shouldn't is not my concern. The fact is THEY DO, so why fight it? Let people do what they want and live with the consequences. Even if a man wants to be ignorant, "let him be ignorant" (I Cor. 14:38).
