#Sharia law has no place in a #civilized society. It is an archaic, theocratic system rooted in 7th-century tribal norms that fundamentally contradicts the universal principles of individual liberty, equality under the law, and human dignity developed through the Enlightenment and modern constitutional governance. Under Sharia, women are assigned diminished legal status, apostates and blasphemers face severe punishment including death, corporal penalties like amputation and flogging are prescribed, and personal freedoms of speech, conscience, and sexuality are subordinated to religious edict enforced by the state. A civilized society protects the rights of the individual against coercive dogma; Sharia instead merges religious authority with political power in a manner incompatible with pluralism, secular justice, and progress. No amount of cultural relativism can reconcile these irreconcilable differences. See less
