Truth Isn't the Problem—Our Pride Is"He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy." — Proverbs 29:1 (KJV) Notice that God says "often reproved." The danger is not being corrected once, but repeatedly rejecting correction. God may speak through His Word, a preacher, a godly friend, a parent, a spouse, or even the consequences of our own choices. Every reproof is another act of God's mercy calling us back to Himself. Pride convinces us that everyone else is wrong. Humility asks, "Lord, what are You trying to teach me?" A heart that continually refuses God's correction becomes harder with every rejection until one day judgment comes suddenly. Don't ignore today's conviction. Receive God's reproof while His mercy is still calling.Truth is hard to swallow only when pride refuses to let it in.
