#new A Somali migrant State Senator in Minnesota is warning the Trump administration that if it deports Somalians, other Africans will leave the country in solidarity #Minnesota Republicans say this is a win win situation for the country and welcome all the voluntary deportations they can get. #Somalia State Sen. Omar Fateh, a Minnesota Democrat and son of Somali migrants, made the statements while talking about immigration enforcement. He said that removing Somalis would cause other African communities to act - and leave. His comments are back in the spotlight as the Trump administration moved to terminate TPS for Somalia, first announced in January with an original March 17 deadline, but because of the courts it was extended to July 17th. #africa Minneapolis is home to the largest Somali migrant population in the United States, 81% are on welfare. ICE conducted Operation Metro Surge earlier this year targeting illegal migrant criminals in the Twin Cities, with continued deportations being carried out through June. The Minnesota Somali migrant community has faced major fraud scandals, including the $250 million Feeding Our Future scheme. Republicans say that if other Africans want to stand in solidarity with the Somali's being deported, they will gladly help them out of the country. TPS for Somali's has been extended since 1991, but the Trump administration said the conditions in Somalia have improved enough for termination, affecting about 2,500 Somalis nationwide, many in Minnesota.
