Christina Aquayo News#new Man who was arrested for firebombing two churches in New York has been identified as an illegal migrant #newyork Yogesh Sayrange, 36, a Guyanese man living illegally in the United States was arrested Thursday. He faces federal charges tied to the June 25 Brooklyn smoke shop firebombing and is expected to be hit with more for the July 8 attacks in New York City. Authorities arrested him right after the spree catching him with two more Molotov cocktails still in his backpack. He allegedly confessed to planning more attacks.According to court statements, Sayrange threw a firebomb at the door of Iglesia Bautista El Mesias Baptist Church in Ozone Park, Queens. The firebomb bounced off the metal door and ignited on the ground, causing scorch marks but no major damage or injuries. Pastor Alex Garcia told reporters, “We have no enemies so I don’t know where this is coming from,” and said he would hire extra police protection for services.About 20 minutes later, he allegedly hit an ambulette service on Rockaway Boulevard, where the firebomb caused minimal issues. Then, right after midnight on July 9, he hit the Interborough Congregation Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Woodhaven, Queens.Sayrange has a documented history of violence. He faces pending state charges: Threatening someone with a metal knuckle knife in Manhattan on June 12, and Waving an ax at a man in Queens on June 16 while threatening to cut his head off. Federal authorities had already been hunting him for the June 25 Brooklyn smoke shop attack, where he wore a Guy Fawkes mask and tossed a green glass bottle rigged with screws, hair, rocks, ignitable liquid, and other materials. The fire caused major damage. In court Thursday, Sayrange erupted in outbursts, calling victims “criminal cartels” and “foreign enemies,” yelling at the prosecutor, and ranting about the government. Magistrate Judge Lara Eshkenazi ordered him held without bail. Prosecutors say he is an illegal migrant but he claims he is DACA and his renewal was pending.Critics say the sanctuary policies in New York have kept this man in the country and out of ICE custody despite his criminal record. #ChristinaAguayoNews
