I have no compassion for somebody who does this to animals.
A DEFENSELESS, UNDERNOURISHED TERRIER WAS GRABBED BY THE NECK AND HURLED OVER A SIX-FOOT GATE ONTO CONCRETE WHILE NEIGHBORS CAPTURED THE HORRIFYING ABUSE ON CAMERA.
Bristol Magistrates' Court officials handed down a strict 10-year animal ownership ban to 42-year-old James Andrew Marchant following a sentencing hearing on June 24th. The criminal prosecution was initiated after a neighbor recorded cellular phone footage of Marchant violently lifting his terrier, named Boomer, by the neck and hurling him over a nearly six-foot garden gate onto a paved courtyard.
Veterinary professionals who examined Boomer immediately following the September 2025 incident documented that the terrier was severely emaciated, weighing a meager 4.4 pounds. Medical experts testified in court that the animal suffered intense physical trauma and distress both from the choking hold and the high-impact landing on the hard concrete surface below.
Investigators say Marchant’s housemate, 43-year-old Clair Yvonne Malik, was also successfully prosecuted for her direct role in the extreme neglect. Malik pleaded guilty to failing to meet the dog’s basic nutritional requirements, resulting in a five-year animal disqualification order and multiple financial penalties.
Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) investigators confirmed that Boomer was permanently confiscated from the residence by authorities. Under the protective custody of charity handlers, the terrier successfully gained a healthy amount of weight and was officially rehomed to a safe environment within a month of the initial rescue.
