We regret to pass on that Holmes Fire District #1 (Millersburg, OH-South of Cleveland) Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Yoder died in the line of duty on July 4, 2026. Firefighter/Paramedic Yoder completed his scheduled shift at 6:00 a.m. and left the fire station. At approximately 9:00 a.m., he returned to the station. During that time, Holmes Fire District #1 personnel responded to a 911 call with the ambulance. When the ambulance crew returned from the emergency response, they found Firefighter/Paramedic Yoder collapsed on the ground inside the station. CPR was initiated immediately and transported to Pomerene Emergency Room. Despite all lifesaving efforts, Firefighter/Paramedic Yoder was pronounced deceased at Pomerene Hospital.
