He cites safety reasons due to a lack of police resources.I’m calling bullsheet on all that. Nothing stopped NY from celebrating the NYC Knicks NBA Championship win. Nothing is stopping the NY/NJ World Cup events. And nothing is stopping Taylor Swift’s wedding happening on July 4th just down the street from Times Square.This is Mamdani’s passive aggressive “FU” to America. He wants you to know he’s running NYC like it’s a separate country and America is a hostile invader. Mamdani wants America to be tribal, like his home country Uganda, because it’s easier to get away with corruption when you can always blame the other tribe for government failure.I hope NY’ers come out on 4th anyway and give Mamdani a “FU” right back.
