Focus on What You Can Control "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV) Much of our worry comes from trying to control what God never intended us to control. We cannot change the past, control other people's decisions, determine when God opens a door, or force His timing to match ours. Those things belong to the Lord. What God has placed in our hands is something far more important—our response. We choose whether to obey His Word, guard our thoughts, speak with grace, forgive those who have wronged us, resist temptation, pray faithfully, and trust Him when life doesn't make sense. These are the choices that shape our character and determine the direction of our walk with Christ. The enemy wants your attention fixed on what you cannot change. God wants your attention fixed on what you can do today. Instead of worrying about tomorrow, obey God today. Instead of dwelling on yesterday, learn from it and move forward. Instead of trying to change others, allow God to change you. Every act of obedience is another step toward spiritual maturity. When you place the uncontrollable into God's hands and faithfully obey Him in what you can control, you will discover a peace that circumstances cannot steal. God has never asked you to control your future—He has asked you to trust the One who already holds it. "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)
