Hidden From People... Never Hidden From God "Be sure your sin will find you out." — Numbers 32:23 (KJV)Hidden sin often gives us a false sense of security. Because no one else knows, we convince ourselves we have escaped the consequences. But the Bible never says our sin might be found out—it says, "Be sure your sin will find you out." God sees what no one else can see. He knows every secret thought, every hidden motive, and every private act.How does God expose hidden sin? Sometimes He does it publicly, just as He did with King David. David thought his sin with Bathsheba had been covered, but God sent Nathan the prophet to uncover it before the nation (2 Samuel 12:1-14, KJV). At other times, God exposes sin inwardly. Hidden sin robs us of the joy of our salvation, steals our peace, hinders our prayers, and removes the blessing and fellowship we once enjoyed with Him. A man may fool his family, his church, and even himself, but he cannot hide from the all-seeing eyes of God.The good news is that God exposes sin not merely to shame us, but to restore us. When we humble ourselves, confess our sin, and forsake it, He is ready to forgive and cleanse. David's story did not end with exposure—it ended with repentance and restoration. God would much rather forgive a confessed sin today than expose an unconfessed sin tomorrow. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." — Proverbs 28:13
