🚨UPDATE: Jamie Varley, a 37-year-old ex-teacher, has been handed a whole-life order for the murder of 13-month-old baby Preston. He and his partner John McGowan Fazakerley had inflicted months of abuse, torture, and sexual assault on the child inside their home. The pair, who adopted Preston in April 2025, killed him only four months later. A post-mortem examination uncovered 40 external and internal injuries, including those matching forcible penetration and sexual abuse, after Varley claimed the baby had drowned. Varley was convicted of murder, child cruelty, grievous bodily harm, sexual assault of a child, and taking indecent images. Meanwhile, McGowan Fazakerley was sentenced to 25 years for allowing the child's death, child cruelty, and sexual assault. The murderer, who was earlier held in a lower-security facility, has now been transferred to the infamous HMP Wakefield, dubbed Monster Mansion. There, he is refusing food, crying constantly, and informing staff that he wants to die, as he fears being attacked like other notorious prisoners.
