It would be the lead story on CNN, labeled a hate crime, and the player would be banned for life.But because the victim is white and the face of a historically Black league, ESPN and the rest of the media are completely looking the other way. They are gaslighting the fans and protecting the aggressor because calling out the obvious racial animus would completely destroy their political narrative.
