DON'T LOSE YOUR LAUGH When you study God's word, you learn a great deal of truth about this present evil world and this present apostate church age. This is where the devil wins with so many believers. The learned believer assumes that he's victorious since he has learned about the devil's devices and that he has an advantage over the unlearned. In many ways this is true. He can avoid the wrong doctrines, the wrong churches, and the wrong people, so yes, he has an advantage over the blind Laodiceans who lack the discernment to avoid much of anything. HOWEVER, he is not advantaged at all, if his increase of knowledge has decreased his joy. The best soldier of Jesus can see all the evil in the world and still laugh and enjoy his own standing in the Lord. He can preach the truth about conspiracies, socialist democrats, empty believism, religious hypocrites and heretics, and lukewarm Laodiceans, and yet do it all with a smile and a good sense of humor. Too many believers have lost this and have grown bitter, and it shows in most everything they do and say. As as redeemed child of God, I must remember that my joy is not for sale, and no one is impressed by my bitterness. The truth that I promote will have far more strength, if people see that I still know how to smile, laugh and rest in the Lord. "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation." (Hab. 3:17-18) "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." (Pro. 17:22)
