I try not to kill them, but this year I've noticed that they didn't build any nests in my porch rafters. In fact, I haven't noticed as many bees as normal. I haven't seen one hornet either, come to think of it. They're out there, just not as many it seems. I'm almost always outside, so I notice things like this.
