"A NATION BLESSED BY GOD" "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance." (Psalm 33:12)God is not powerless to shower His blessings on our Country, but our sins have cut us off from His desire to bless. Our nation is filled with violence, lies, and treachery. Honesty and truth have been ignored. Injustice and corruption are everywhere, from the highest courts of law, right on down to the market places of the common people. We are able to read about a previous condition of a land much like ours now. In Isaiah 59:3-4, we hear that Godly Prophet crying out to the people of his day, "For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity." Today, Bible Believers who try to be honest and walk uprightly suffer persecution from those who find it more convenient to cooperate with the corrupt system now plaguing our land. We live in a moral darkness which this God-hating society has created by rejecting Him and therefore, forgo His blessed hand. Our land, for the most part, has become a land of dead people walking hither and yon. This great Country of ours needs to bend their knee to God, or it will be brought to their knees by the godless enemies whose delight is to destroy us. If America continues to cozy up to the wickedness of the world, the flesh, and the devil, captivity, like Israel met with in the Old Testament, is not that far off. Friends, the Lord sees all this and it truly grieves Him as He patiently waits and watches for our response. And how should we respond? We must repent and return to God if there is to be a renewal of His blessings to us.
