Wednesday 10th June 2026Hadi Alodid was arrested after Stephen Ogilvie, who is in his 40s, lost his left eye after being attacked on a residential street at around 10.30pm on Monday. The 30-year-old has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife, as well as a separate charge of making threats to kill an NHS radiographer. Alodid said 'I've killed someone, I don't know if they are dead' while in hospital receiving treatment for a hand injury after Mr Ogilvie was attacked before telling a medic: 'I will kill you', a detective told Belfast Magistrates' Court.The suspect, who lived in the same block of flats as the victim, appeared video videolink and was remanded in custody for four weeks. He refused a lawyer and made no reply to the charges, which were put to him through an Arabic interpreter.
