Your Hour Of Desperation2 Kings 19:14-15“And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD. And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD…”The situation for King Hezekiah was serious. King Sennacherib and the Assyrian army were looking to invade the land. They sent letters threatening the invasion. King Hezekiah took his problems and the letters and literally spread the letters out before the LORD and prayed. God answered those prayers and gave the victory. When they got up in the morning, without lifting a hand they found 185,000 strong army of the Assyrians were all dead corpses (2 Kings 19:35). It is a blessed hour in any man’s life when the situation or opportunity before him moves him away from himself and into an unreserved faith in God alone. Such a person has learned that alone and in and of himself he will fail, he will loose the battle every time. He has learned that when he trusts the hand of God, he is trusting the hand of omnipotence. It is a humbling moment in his life but it is the best thing that could have happened to him. In Peter’s hour of desperation he began to sink in the water and cried out, “Save me”. In Paul’s hour he sought the Lord to take it away. Instead of taking it away, God gave Paul sufficient grace for his hour. What has God used to bring you away from yourself and unto Him?
