#new Illegal migrant from Mexico - previously released by California sanctuary policies - charged with m*rder after allegedly stabbing a two week old baby to de*th

28-year-old Joaquin Escoto Vazquez illegally entered the United States in California in 2018, was deported during the first Trump Administration, and then illegally re-entered the country at an unknown date and location - which is a felony.
His criminal record includes four prior arrests for driving under the influence of liquor. The most recent happened in June 2025.
Following that June 2025 DUI arrest in San Joaquin County, ICE placed a detainer hold, requesting that Vazquez be turned over to federal custody for deportation.
California sanctuary policies prevented local authorities from honoring the detainer, they released him without notifying ICE and he went on to allegedly stab a baby.

Vazquez also allegedly k*lled the baby's 23-year-old mother, and her 54-year-old mother
Modesto police responded to reports of a disturbance to a home near Orville Wright Elementary School.
Officers found Fabiola Gonzalez-Nunez and 54-year-old Maria Sylvia Nunez-Villalobos de*d at the scene from stab wounds.
The infant, Mateo Gonzalez was stabbed multiple times but was still alive, but later died at a hospital.
A 3-year-old child was also inside the home and taken to the hospital for evaluation, but was physically unharmed.
Vazquez was found hiding in a nearby house and arrested.
Authorities believe Vazquez lived in the home with the victims and was in a relationship with the daughter.
They say he is the father of the baby and the surviving 3-year-old child.
Vazquez faces:
🔷️Three counts of first-degree m*rder with special circumstance enhancements for multiple victims,
🔷️Allegations that he personally used a knife,
🔷️Child abuse resulting in the death of a child under 8, and
🔷️Child endangerment related to the surviving child.
🔷️He also faced an outstanding Modesto Police Department warrant tied to a prior DUI case.
🔷️Prosecutors say that he acted “intentionally, deliberately and with premeditation.”
🔷️He has pleaded not guilty.
ICE released a statement saying,
“This monster’s heinous crime could have been prevented if sanctuary politicians in California simply cooperated with ICE law enforcement."
"This criminal illegal alien from Mexico is now charged with homicide and cruelty toward child after the fatal stabbings of a baby, the baby’s mother, and the baby’s grandmother. "
"ICE had placed a detainer on him after he was arrested for driving under the influence of liquor in 2025, but California sanctuary politicians chose to RELEASE him instead of turning him over to ICE."
"Governor Gavin Newsom and his fellow sanctuary politicians must stop putting lives at risk by RELEASING criminals from jails into California communities to create more victims.”
