"LONG LIFE WITH OUR LORD""With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation." (Psalm 91:16)Those 2 words: "long life" was a promise of longevity, which in Biblical times, was often seen as a sign of God's blessing and favor. In the context of ancient Israel, a long life was associated with wisdom, prosperity, and the fulfillment of God's covenant promises.Now, there's no doubt about the truth of God's promise for you and me. An unbelieving world may scoff, and sneer at this Biblical fact that Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners. He willingly carried our sins; while dragging that Cross He called His Cross and took all our filthiness upon Himself.For He took the payment of those sins, which was death, to that borrowed tomb and rose from that now barren tomb. God's plan of salvation shows its fullest expression in Jesus' cross and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-3).Yes, He gladly died our death and held it tightly unto His own bosom and three days later conquered man's greatest enemy when He arose from the dead.Today, with hearts astir and hopes assured, we hear our Saviour's voice so sweetly remind us, "Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. (John 14:19)Have you been hurting lately because of the death of a loved one or a friend? Is there a sting in the air because of your own one-day appointment with death? Hear those comforting words of Scripture, "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1 Corinthians 15:55)Oh my, long life, eternal life, everlasting life with our Lord Jesus Christ. Just think of it: Everlasting life with our Ever-living Saviour. Yes, we will be forever secure and fully satisfied because our Saviour hath showed us the way of salvation and has clothed us with His own righteousness.Friends, thanks to Jesus, Who made something grand and glorious out of death for each of His born-again children of God.
