Most people want to shine, but few want to burn.
A candle gives light because it is being consumed.
The wick burns.
The wax melts.
The brighter the light, the greater the cost.
The same is true in the Christian life.
Many want the benefits of serving God without the sacrifice. They want influence without faithfulness, rewards without labor, and a testimony without surrender.
Yet every servant of God in the Bible paid a price.
Moses spent forty years in the wilderness.
David endured years of hardship.
Paul was "spent" for the Gospel.
Their lives were not preserved for comfort; they were poured out for God's glory.
The question is not whether your life will be spent. It will.
The question is: Will it be spent for Christ or for yourself?
Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
There is no light without burning.
There is no burning without sacrifice.
There is no sacrifice without eternal impact.
Don't be a flicker for this world.
Burn brightly for the Lord Jesus Christ.
