This WayActs 9:1-2“And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.”Note the phrase “this way”.Saul who later God would change his name to Paul was using the phrase “this way” to describe Christians. He did it again in Acts 22:4 in declaring his testimony before the brethren of the church he testified that he “persecuted this way unto the death…”.If an old Christ denying, persecutor of the church like Saul of Tarsus were alive today and looking for those who were followers of Jesus would he find you living in “this way”?What does it mean to be “this way”?Are you “this way” only on Sundays or is “this way” the way you live everyday?Do you live “this way” just when it is convenient and works to your advantage?Do others know that you are of “this way”?“This way” is not my way it is the Jesus way. It is a way of life that without question identifies one with Jesus Christ. For many back in the time of Acts chapter 9 being “this way” meant you could be captured and imprisoned, tortured, beaten or killed. Today what does being “this way” lead you to? In some countries it can lead to persecution and maybe death. What does it mean to be of “this way” while living in a country like America?
