Looking UpPsalms 121:1-2“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”The Psalmist has decided to lift up his eyes. The obvious is that he must have been looking down. There’s a thousand different things that can make a person drop their head. The position of the head can indicate the posture of one’s heart. Being downcast or depressed is no laughing matter. It can happen to anyone, even the Christian. But God gives us the cure! It is a look upward in the right direction. The help we need to bring us out of being downcast is always from above and in the direction of our risen LORD. The Psalmist also reminds us that our God made heaven and earth. He is the Creator! He created each of us and He is able to bring us up from whatever it may be that is causing us to look down. Feeling a little downcast today? Is your head in the downward position? Then by faith look up, the help you need is from the LORD who made heaven and earth.
