What Has Changed?Hebrews 10:24-25“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”I am hearing more and more pastors share with me their frustrations with the apathetic attitude of church members towards the attendance of services.“We have good attendance on Sunday morning but Sunday night and mid-week services or extended meetings beyond Sunday are not hardly attended at all.” That is the usual spill of frustration that pastors state. I do not view that as a complaint from any pastor but a truthful statement of the reality of the day. Some pastors have quit having any revival or extended meetings through the week because of this apathy among the members. What has changed? Our analysis and attempt to find an answer usually includes the Covid pandemic. When that took place the schedule of church services were put in array. But that just feels more like an excuse than an answer. I feel the real answer lies within the individual Christian and their heart. Yes, times have changed. But the real change maybe within each individual’s heart.Do you love God with all your heart? What do you allow to keep you from coming to church when the doors are open?
