** 1 Peter 5:8 ** “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” There was a time when evil tried to hide in darkness, but now it marches openly in the streets, fills television screens, invades churches, corrupts schools, mocks holiness, and celebrates sin without shame. The devil no longer whispers quietly from the shadows—he roars boldly through rebellion, perversion, pride, drunkenness, hatred of truth, and a generation that calls evil good and good evil. What once caused shame is now applauded. What once brought conviction is now defended. Men laugh at righteousness, Despise preaching, Mock God’s people, and Treat the house of God like a stage for entertainment instead of a place of holiness. Satan is not hiding anymore because this world has learned to love darkness more than light. The tragedy is not merely that evil exists, but that so many can look directly at it and still refuse to see it. The blinded heart always finds excuses for sin. Some hate truth because truth exposes them. Others reject church because they do not want authority over their lives. Many reject God because they love their sin too much to repent. Yet the Bible still warns, “Be sober, be vigilant.” God never told His people to be asleep in the last days. Christians are to discern, stand firm, and refuse to normalize what God condemns. The roaring lion is no longer pretending to be harmless—and neither should the church pretend the danger is not real.
