According to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in a recent speech on her Elect-Me-To-The-White-House-In-2028-Based-On-Nothing Tour, the American Revolution was against the billionaires of their time. Now, I will admit it has been a minute since I was in school myself, but what the hell are they teaching in History and Civics classes these days? Nowhere in the Declaration of Independence does Thomas Jefferson write an incoherent screed that rails against the British billionaires oppressing the proletariat of the colonies. Nowhere in the Constitution did James Madison write in the separation of wealth from the people who earn or create it. The American Revolution was very simply an anti-government revolt and this is plain in the construction of the United States Constitution. Madison and the other Founding Fathers made sure it would be a very anti-government document that preserved and protected, but did not provide (since they are inherent) American citizens' rights. The Founding Fathers did not rise up against billionaires and their oppression; they rose up against the oppression of the British Crown and its government over the people of the colonies of North America. Ms. Ocasio-Cortez supposedly graduated from Boston University, a very prestigious institution that currently bills its students around $90,000 a year for tuition and other expenses. Given she graduated a decade and a half ago with an incomprehensible degree in Economics and International Relations, I am sure it was a fair bit less. Yet, she somehow has made and continues to make bafflingly vapid, inane, wildly inaccurate, and sometimes dangerous mistakes in her verbiage that makes me question whether Boston University should have their accreditation revoked. There is no way someone should be able to graduate after blowing that much money on a double degree like that and be this consistently wrong and historically and economically warped from reality.
