Most people do not destroy their lives in one lifetime of evil — they destroy them in one unguarded moment. One moment of anger. One moment without restraint. One moment where emotions overruled wisdom. A man may spend years building trust, years loving his family, years doing right, years staying out of trouble — and then one furious decision can shatter what took decades to build. One moment can lead to prison, divorce, broken homes, ruined testimonies, or even death. That is why the Bible warns us so strongly about anger. The damage done in a moment often leaves consequences that remain for years. Ecclesiastes 7:9 (KJV) says, “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” Anger does not pause to count the cost. Anger leaps before wisdom speaks. Many regret the words they said, the fists they raised, the choices they made, and the bridges they burned — but once the moment passes, some things cannot be undone. A wise man learns to stop before the moment controls him. One Spirit-filled moment of restraint can save years of sorrow.
