During their seven-hour flyby of the Moon on April 6, 2026, Artemis II astronauts captured an Earthset over the lunar horizon. As it dipped from view, an illuminated crescent of Earth’s South Pacific region was partially covered with clouds. Don’t ask us what type – they were 238,855 miles (384,400 km) away!
Earthset viewed from the dark side of the Moon by the Artemis II crew. Thanks to NASA for this image.
