"THE SPIRIT OF FEAR" "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)Violence is all around us. Killings to the right of us and killings to the left of us. We can't even turn on the TV, listen to the radio, or open the newspaper without being told of one or more of these nut jobs whose sole purpose in life is to terrorize while filling others with fear. It seems now that no public place is safe anymore. Why, even in the privacy of our own homes, thugs desire to break in, burglarize, and beat up innocent people.Am I going to be next? Are you going to be next? I don't know. But one thing I do know is that I'm not going to laze around and worry and live in fear over it. And as a Child of God, neither should you!We're well aware that the devil and his hooligans are on the prowl. He thrives on violence and instills his hatred in the hearts of his followers. He enjoys it and has a high old time when Christians live in fear. He's been a murderer from the beginning, and he still seeks all he can devour with fear and frustration.But folks, his days of fear-filling events are numbered. Let's remain calm and quiet when that accuser of the brethren loudly rings his little fear alarms which are intended to bring confusion and consternation to any who heed his devotion to disquieting news.Friends, let's to continue to study our Bible, pray, seek God's face, and witness to all we can, for then we will not have time to be fearful. Be thankful and keep on rejoicing till we go to be with our Saviour and the FAITHFUL in Heaven and the FEARFUL go to be with Satan in Hell.
