== > “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (KJV)This generation did not have easy lives. They worked long hours, carried heavy burdens, lived through wars, poverty, loss, and hard labor that most today cannot even imagine. Their hands were rough, their backs were tired, and many of them had little money and little comfort. Yet after the fields, factories, mills, and long days, many still opened God’s Book before bed. They understood something this modern generation has forgotten — man cannot live without God. They did not have endless entertainment, scrolling phones, and constant distractions stealing every quiet moment. They made time for the Lord because they knew His Word was more important than comfort.Today many have more convenience than any generation in history, yet less time for God than ever before. We have lights everywhere but little spiritual light. We have information everywhere but little wisdom. A tired farmer with a lantern and an open Bible often had more peace, more direction, and more understanding of life than many sitting in modern luxury today. Hard work did not destroy that generation — forgetting God is what destroys generations. The lamp still burns. The Book still gives light. The question is whether people still care enough to open it.
