“Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?” — Galatians 5:7 (KJV)A man can start right and still be pulled off course—not by strangers, but by the very people around him. Family, friends, and coworkers often don’t hate you… but they don’t want you to change. When you begin to walk closer with God, they feel the difference, and instead of rising, they pull. “You’re fine.” “Don’t go too far.” “Don’t get extreme.” That is not harmless talk—that is hindrance. Paul didn’t ask what hindered you, but who. Because many times, the greatest resistance to truth wears a familiar face. If you’re not careful, their voices will outweigh God’s Word. You’ll slow down, compromise, and eventually stop obeying the truth—not because you stopped believing it, but because you listened to the wrong voices. The truth is simple: anyone who pulls you away from obedience to God is not helping you—they are hindering you. It takes courage to keep walking when others pull, but better to walk with God alone than to be surrounded and dragged backward. Truth has never needed a crowd—it requires obedience.
