14. And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.Luke 22:14. Jesus sat down for the last Passover supper. After this day, the Passover would no longer celebrate Israel's exit from Egypt, but it would be the fulfillment of what Christ represented. Because of sin, we have been sentenced to death. In Egypt, the blood on the doorposts told the angel of death to pass over that house. The angel did not go into the house to see if all were worthy; the blood said they were covered. Christ became our sinless lamb and sacrificed Himself for our sins. We are covered in His blood and declared not guilty. Christ told His disciples He would not eat this kind of Passover again. He completed His mission as Savior and Redeemer, and we take the Lord's Supper to remember that Christ willingly gave Himself for our rescue. Amen.
