PrayingPsalms 55:17“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”1 Thessalonians 5:17“Pray without ceasing.”What a wonderful gift God gave to His people in the gift of prayer. This gift is also a mighty weapon for spiritual warfare (2 Corinthians 10:4). The Psalmist David said he would pray three times a day; “evening, and morning, and at noon”! Daniel “kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime” (Daniel 6:10) and he did so in the face of an opposing king and a decree to not pray unto God. Our Lord rose up a great while before day and “departed into a solitary place, and there prayed”(Mark 1:35).I am convinced my biggest failures in life and ministry have first been a prayer failure. Some Christians, have a set time in which they pray. A set time is good. But the Christian is admonished to pray without ceasing. To always be in the mindset of prayer, the heart pure and clean and opened, the spirit in tune with the Holy Spirit, that if something or someone comes upon the heart the matter is immediately taken before God in prayer. How would you describe your prayer life?“O what peace we often forfeit,O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carryeverything to God in prayer!”
