Psalms 101:7 “He that w o r k e t h deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that t e l l e t h lies shall not tarry in my sight.” Truth is not just a virtue—it is a requirement in the presence of God. This verse doesn’t soften the matter. It draws a hard line: deceit and lies are not welcome where God rules. A lie may seem small in the moment, but it never stays small. It spreads. It seeps into your thinking, your relationships, your character. One lie demands another. Before long, you’re not just telling lies—you’re living one. That’s the danger: deception doesn’t sit still, it multiplies. But truth, though it cuts, cleans. It exposes what’s wrong so it can be made right. A truthful man may face hard moments, but he walks in the light, and there is peace in that. God honors truth because He is truth. When you choose honesty—even when it costs you—you are choosing to stand where God stands. Lies may give temporary cover, but they rot the foundation of your life. Truth may hurt for a moment, but it builds something that will last.
