Might I Opine:For those asking, how could a person with a gun get past multiple security checkpoints during an event like that, the answer is rather simple. The gunman had checked into that hotel days prior, allowing him to bypass the outer security during the event. He was already in the hotel so the only checkpoint he needed to pass was at those magnetometers at the final security checkpoint. The video shows him sprinting through that area and being taken down in the lobby. It is still rather concerning that only one checkpoint and just over 100 feet stands between people checked into the hotel and the entrance to the ballroom. This is another example why a White House ballroom, that can hold such events, is so important. (DL)
