Here’s the truth most people don’t want to face: deception didn’t start on earth—it started in heaven. The Bible says in Revelation 12:4 (KJV) that Satan drew “the third part of the stars of heaven” with him. These weren’t ignorant beings—they were in the very presence of God, and yet they still fell. That ought to shake you. If deception could reach that high, what makes any man think he’s safe living without the Word of God? The problem today is not that Satan is stronger—it’s that people are careless. They neglect Scripture, trust their feelings, and walk straight into traps they don’t even see. God already warned us: 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil… seeketh whom he may devour.” He’s not playing games—and neither should you. If you’re not grounded in God’s Word, you are not standing—you’re drifting. And drifting always leads somewhere bad. This world is full of voices, opinions, and distractions, but only one thing keeps you steady: truth. Not church attendance alone, not good intentions, not feelings—but the Word of God rightly believed and obeyed. The same devil that deceived angels is still working today, and he’s not intimidated by your confidence, your past, or your excuses. The only protection you have is submission to God’s truth. So don’t play around with sin, don’t flirt with compromise, and don’t assume you’re stronger than you are. Get in the Book, stay in the Book, and let the Book get in you—before deception takes you further than you ever intended to go.
