The Southern Poverty Law Center is now facing an explosive 11-count federal indictment — wire fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering conspiracy — for brazenly soliciting donations to “dismantle” extremism while secretly funneling more than $3 million between 2014 and 2023 to leaders tied to the Ku Klux Klan, Aryan Nations, the National Socialist Party of America, and their violent networks. It stands accused of bankrolling the very monsters it told donors it was heroically fighting.Under the Biden-Harris DOJ, this same corrupt organization was granted obscene privileged access, including regular Civil Rights Division meetings, prosecutor training sessions, embargoed federal hate-crimes data, and its poisonous “hate map” embedded in official threat assessments. That map viciously branded mainstream conservatives, President Trump, Turning Point USA, and countless others as dangerous drivers of white nationalism and antigovernment extremism.In its May 22, 2025 “Year in Hate & Extremism 2024” report, the SPLC singled out TPUSA as “A Case Study of the Hard Right,” naming Charlie Kirk repeatedly. On September 9, 2025, one day before his assassination at Utah Valley University, the SPLC’s Hatewatch newsletter targeted him yet again, helping to create the toxic climate of demonization that motivated his assassin the very next day.The pattern is damning and unmistakable. An entity now federally charged with manufacturing the hatred it fundraised against was deliberately elevated by the prior administration to define and destroy its ideological opponents. When the powerful conspire with proven frauds to smear and endanger the innocent, the public demands unsparing truth. This indictment is not partisan score-settling.
