📖 Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Fake repentance is one of the most dangerous deceptions a person can live in, because it looks right on the outside while leaving the heart unchanged.
Any person can say “I’m sorry,” shed tears, and even talk about God—but if there is no real change, no forsaking of sin, then it is not repentance at all.
The Bible doesn’t say “confess only”—it says confess and forsake.
That means repentance is not just words, it is a turning.
It is easy to justify sin, blame others, seek agreement, and continue in the same behavior while claiming to have changed—but God calls that covering sin, and He says plainly: you shall not prosper.
The mask may fool people, but it will never fool God.
Real repentance is costly—it requires honesty, humility, and a willingness to walk away from what you once held onto.
It may mean losing relationships, habits, or comforts, but it leads to something far greater: mercy. God is not looking for performance—He is looking for transformation.
If sin is still being defended, repeated, or excused, then it has not been forsaken.
The good news is this: mercy is still available, but only on God’s terms—not ours.
Drop the mask, stop covering, and get real with God.
That’s where true freedom begins.
