Titus 1:16 — “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him…” — and that is the root of this blindness. A man thinks he sees because he has religion, knowledge, or outward form, but he has never submitted his heart to truth. Pride convinces him he is right; familiarity with Scripture deceives him into thinking he is changed; and comparison with others makes him feel righteous. Yet the evidence is not in what he says—but in what he does. Like the Pharisees, he can speak of God while denying Him in daily life, and that contradiction blinds him more than open sin ever could. The danger is this: once a man believes he sees, he stops seeking light. That is why the false Christian is so hard to reach—he is not stumbling in darkness… he is confidently walking in it.
