God Has EnemiesPsalms 68:1“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hatehim flee before him.”God has enemies and those who hate Him. For me that is hard to fathom.I know the Bible teaches us that Satan is the enemy of God, but this verse reminds me that there are people, humans created in the very image of God, who hate Him and who chose to make God their enemy. They have a Godless agenda. They envision a society without God, His Word, His law, His Son Jesus, and His righteousness. They view God as someone who is in the way of what they want. Jesus reminded us that because they hated Him, they will also hate those who follow Him.David wrote in song, “Let God arise…” or Stand up God! One day He will stand for all the world to see Him! And as He stands His holiness will radiate throughout and His enemies will scatter! They will run from His holy and righteous presence. They who hate Him will one day flee to escape His presence and His imminent judgement. But how will they escape He who is Omnipresent and Omnipotent?How can a person view God as an enemy and hate Him who “so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”?
