Overall, the results should be encouraging for supporters of the pro-life movement. The study found that maternal mortality rates are declining in both states with strict pro-life laws and those with permissive abortion policies. Since the fetal heartbeat law took effect, Texas has seen its maternal mortality rate drop by 2.4%.Other states with strict pro-life laws saw a 3.3% decrease.
